27/06/2011 Dmitry Bertman is in the jury of The International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition

In the end of June - beginning of July artistic director of "Helikon-Opera" Dmitry Bertman is in the jury of The International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition, the international contest of opera and operetta artists in Austria.

The International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition is one of the most renowned and biggest singers’ competitions world-wide, offering young talents an opportunity to make contact with people who can help them embark on a future international career.

The managers and agents of most famous musical theatres of the world are the members of the jury. The representatives of theatrical agencies intently watch the competitors. The selective rounds are held in more than 50 cities of the world. Up to three thousands of singers can participate in the contest. 150 people participate in Vienna's round and only three of them enter the final.

The contest was organized 30 years ago by Hans Gabor, the founder and permanent artistic director of Vienna Chamber Opera. All his life he paid a great attention to the search of young singing talents. Many celebrities started their vocal career in Vienna Chamber Opera. Gabor’s efforts in that direction brought to the creation of a contest of a new type, where the participants are offered an opportunity to communicate with theatrical agents and managers. After Gabor’s death the contest inherited his name. The event is held in Vienna Chamber theatre, and its final is held in the legendary Viennese town hall. Besides three main prizes, there are some additional, among them is the one of Moscow music theatre “Helikon-Opera”, which is established personally by Dmitry Bertman. Dmitry Bertman have been the member of the jury of Belvedere Singing Competition for many years.
