The opera with a complex fate, wich history began with a crushing failure and later achieved recognition and admiration from music lovers of all times and nations. The tragic story of love, betrayal and death has been staged hundreds of times in the best opera houses of the world, but Dmitry Bertman is famous for his amazing talent for removing the dust of history and breaking the shackles of stereotypes even where it seems there is no possibility. What will come out of it - a parable about cross-cultural differences, into the abyss of which human destinies fall, a metaphysical dance of a butterfly in the fire, or a story of cruel cynicism and disbelief that destroy all living things, let it remain a mystery for now...

"For the first time, we will present the original version of the opera, that Puccini himself later rewrote, - revealed the stage-director Dmitry Bertman. - In this version, "Madama Butterfly" has never been performed before!"
