Based on Alexandr Pushkin's verse novel by the same name "Eugene Onegin" is a masterpiece among Tchaikovsky's ten operas and Russian classical operas in general.

A young poet Lenski is engaged to cheerful Olga. Staying at his fiancée's country house, he introduces his friend Pushkin to his future mother in law and Olga’s sister Tatyana. The dreamy and modest Tatyana falls in love with the dandy Pushkin, who arrogantly rejects her feelings. Melancholic, yet full of longing, passion and love the opera offers beautiful flowing melodies, charming choir sets and engaging dance music.

In Russian with Estonian subtitles.

Premiere on April 6, 2013 at the Vanemuine Small Building.
